ABOUT

Marjorie Robertson is a storyteller, teacher, and multilinguist. Her novel, Bitters in the Honey, was a semifinalist in the 2014 William Faulkner-William Wisdom Writing Competition. Her unpublished collection of short stories was longlisted for the 2022 Santa Fe Writers Project Award. In 2015, she was the recipient of a research residency by the University of Chicago Center in Paris to do research for a book and conduct interviews of French Moroccan women. 

 

Her fiction and essays have appeared in Grain Magazine, The Ekphrastic Review, The Elephant Journal, and The Santa Fe Writers Project, among others. 

 

Marjorie has worked as a house cleaner, a bookseller, a writer, a French interpreter, and a teacher, but her first love was foreign language. She has been a moderator for a UCLA bilingual fair and a research assistant for folklore studies. For several years, she taught writing, English, and English-as-a-Second Language at colleges in Virginia and California.
